Orthofix Internship
A summer internship supporting a medical device company's rebrand by creating internal design systems and collateral.
Branding

Project Overview

Goal: Support Orthofix's company-wide rebrand through internal design systems and collateral
Year Created: 2026
My Role: Creative and Graphic Design Intern
Orthofix is a medical device company based in Frisco, Texas, currently going through a merger and rebrand, combining all of its branches under one unified look. I worked with the Marketing Communications team, translating the new brand identity into templates and assets employees could use going forward.
The Challenge
Create accessible assets using the new brand that employees across the company could easily use, while keeping every touchpoint consistent under the unified rebrand.
The Solution
I worked on three main areas of the rebrand: social media templates, the iconography library, and Employee Essentials templates.
Icon Library
Organized and rebuilt a library of about 265 icons, separating and exporting each as an individual SVG file, checking stroke weight and sizing for consistency, and designing a few new icons.
Social Media
Created and edited templates for LinkedIn and Instagram covering product innovation, data infographics, surgeon features, patient lifestyle content, and events, built in Illustrator and Adobe Express for employees to use.

Employee Essentials Templates
Supported print and digital templates (Illustrator, Word, InDesign, Acrobat), making internal materials more accessible.

Reflection
This internship taught me how to design with consistency in mind while still knowing when to break the rules as a designer. Working through hundreds of icons and dozens of templates during a live rebrand gave me a real understanding of design systems, and working alongside the brand team taught me not just how to design, but why the decisions get made the way they do.
