Project Overview

Goal:
Create an app for students to help them connect with other creatives
Year Created:
2025
My Role:
Visual Lead
For this project, I was responsible for the overall visual direction of the app, including branding, color, typography, and the final high fidelity screens. I also contributed to user research and led the team's design system decisions.

The Problem
Students spend an average of over an hour a day trying to find collaborators with no centralized place to look. Collab is a student focused app that makes cross major collaboration effortless through skill tags, filtered search, and profile based discovery. Through surveys, interviews, town watching, and cultural probes with over 50 SCAD students, we validated a clear gap: creatives want to connect, they just don't have the right space to do it.
Design Solution
Build a centralized app where students can post projects, browse profiles, filter by skill and major, and connect with collaborators all in one place.

Reflection
Taking on the visual lead role pushed me in ways I did not expect. Leading a full UX project from research through final screens required confidence and decisiveness. Collaborating with a new team meant learning each other's working styles quickly, but we found our rhythm and the work was stronger for it. I left this project a more intentional designer and a more confident one.
